Once the patient arrives at the medical center, the person in charge of the hair restoration department will be waiting to escort them and show them the way to the surgical area. Upon arrival, they will have a few minutes to change and prepare for the procedure.

The nurse assigned to assist the doctor throughout the procedure will receive the patient in the operating room. The doctor will explain the operation to the patient in detail; it consists of two parts: extraction and implantation.

Before the transplant begins, photographs will be taken to compare the patient's appearance prior to the procedure with the final surgical outcome. Patient privacy is always maintained.

Appropriate medication is administered to prevent and control infections (antibiotic prophylaxis). The extraction and implantation phases can take between two and four hours, depending on the number of follicular units to be implanted and the ease of extraction, which varies for each patient.

Based on the patient's preferences and the doctor's recommendations, a preliminary design is created during the pre-operative consultation to ensure a perfect, natural result. In the operating room, the agreed-upon design is recreated and drawn onto the recipient area.

Local anesthesia will be used; therefore, the patient will remain awake throughout the procedure and face no risks. It is administered by area, and the anesthesia takes effect instantly and painlessly. The patient is asked if they feel any pain during the surgery.

Once the donor area the occipital or lateral region of the scalp has been selected and the anesthesia administered, we proceed to extract the follicular units from the patient's head; the patient can rest during this time, as the anesthesia ensures they feel no pain.

Throughout the procedure, an exact count of the total number of hairs is maintained; first, a counter tallies the follicular units, and then a nurse counts the total hairs in each unit and divides the follicular units if necessary.

The rest period will range from 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the duration of the procedure. During this break, the patient may make a brief phone call or have a light snack. The meal will be served at the clinic itself.

In this stage, follicles are grafted one by one into the recipient area of the patient's scalp; the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, just like the previous phase. Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) is used to ensure the correct direction, depth, and angle.

Once the entire surgery is complete, photographs are taken again from various angles to verify the significant change resulting from the operation and the patient's new appearance. The final results are assessed 12 months after the surgery.

The patient must follow specific steps to ensure the survival and proper care of the new hair. Therefore, the patient will be given instructions regarding care, medication, hair washing, the recovery process, graft growth, and potential side effects.
